volumeun yeah he is the german shepherd.
Mum has been talking about it for probably the last two months or more and then when I told her im moving here (which I have) she bite the bullet and put him up for sale for reasons such as:
•he is costing her a fortune in food and medications. The poor thing was born with a skin disease that regularly flares up from time to time and as a result he is hard to put weight on. Mum easily spends over a hundred a week on food for him and even though he weighs 50kg the vet thinks he needs to gain more (his only a year and a half!?)
• mum runs a small business from home but she works very long days away at clients then when she is home she is working in her office. If she is lucky she makes time on weekends to take him walking but can’t all the time.
• she just feels like since I am no longer living at home ans able to give him attention and take him walking often that he deserves a better home to someone on a farm who has time for him and where he will have plenty to do.
• she lists valid points but still. . I just think its cruel to sell a dog after you have raised them pretty much then take them away from the only place they know is home.
Arnie is a beautiful dog! He has such a lovely nature and although he is strong he really is a big softy! I will always remember the night before I moved I ordered chicken and chips for dinner from a takeaway store and gave like more then half to arnie by chucking them up in the air and him catching it. Just sad.
Aw that is such a shame I’m sorry. I know I wouldn’t be too happy if my mum did that to Merlin but I guess she does have your other dogs to look after too without the added costs. Hope you’re ok beaut! Loving the updates since you moved - happy for you both!
